Ayurveda festival to be held in Sharjah

Deccan Herald: In order to promote the famous Indian Ayurvedic products, India Trade and Exhibition Centre (ITEC) is hosting an Indo-Ayur Fest in Sharjah this month. The festival, Ayur Fest, from April 27- 30, which is being held in association with Arabia 360 Events, Dubai, has the support of Ayush and Care Kerala, the Central and State Govt Cooperate for Ayurveda and is the first international event of its kind.

Ahmed Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Sanjay Verma, Consul General of India in Dubai will inaugurate the Indo-Arab Fest, an ITEC statement said.

“Ayur Fest is an industry focused expo which has been conceived to promote Ayurveda. The expo shall also promote the famous Indian Ayurvedic products, health packages and treatments all under one roof”, it said.

Leading team of academicians in Ayurveda and exponents from the Ayurvedic field from different states in India will also be honoured at this event.

Seminars on common diseases among expats and the various Ayurvedic remedies shall be one of the highlights of the fest. Sripriyaa, the Director General of ITEC said.

“The aim of ITEC is to organise India-centric exhibitions that help to promote trade and investments between India and the Gulf region. The Ayur fest is a step in that direction,” she said.

The programmes during the festival will include Acharya Pranamam -  Honouring of Five Legendary Masters from Ayurveda, an exhibition of various renowned Ayurvedic medicines, workshop and live demonstration of Indian herbs and treatment methods and seminars featuring dignitaries from Ayurvedic sector.
